The Farm

2 and 3 year olds are now more aware and interested in arts and craft, listening to stories and have a larger concentration span. The activities children will be able to enjoy are painting, construction toys, imaginative play, to name but a few.

We are very aware of the fact that we are a multicultural nursery. Each child is treated as an individual, and we make ourselves aware of, and share, each other's festivals and customs. We are always keen for parents to develop our own knowledge in this area, by talking to us of any of the activities they may be celebrating at home which we could continue in the Nursery. We feel it is important for each child to be aware of cultural differences and preferences, and to respect the beliefs of others in a friendly way.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One. Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.

Wonder Years is registered with the Department of Education and Employment (DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four. Activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

On the Links page (in the Contact Us section) you will see the headings Birth to 3 Matters and What are the Early Learning Goals. These are the frameworks behind the planning of your child's day and the activities and toys offered. Please feel free to click on these for further background information.
