3 & 4 Year Old Funding

The nursery grant will be available for all children from the start of the term after their third birthday until they start in a reception class at School. They are currently entitled to 5 two and half hour sessions per week.

A child aged three by:
31 March will be eligible for grant in the Summer Term
31 August will be eligible for grant in the Autumn Term
31 December will be eligible for grant in the Spring term

The Funding Terms
Spring - January to March
Summer - April to July
Autumn - September to December

Calculations of monthly fees will be based on your child's attendance. Their free entitlement will be deducted off the monthly amounts for that particular term. The grant will be reduced proportionally for a child attending fewer than 5 sessions per week.

Please Remember

You will have to meet the cost of any provision additional to the 5 two and a half hour sessions if you require them.

You cannot claim free nursery education at Wonder Years Day Nursery if your child will be attending a state nursery, school or unit attached to a school during the same grant period. You can however claim through more than one location but not for more than five sessions in total.

You do not have to claim the maximum five sessions per week. You need to decide how many sessions will be suitable for your child.
